Assistant Plant Manager, Conroe Texas facility

Please share some background about your company, position and what your company produces.

Ball Corporation supplies innovative, sustainable aluminum packaging solutions for beverage, personal care and household products customers. Ball Corporation employs 16,000 people worldwide (excluding divested aerospace staff) and reported 2023 net sales of $14.03 billion. I am the Assistant Plant Manager (APM) of the Conroe Texas facility. In Conroe, we produce 12oz and 25oz beverage cans along with 16oz Alumi-Tek bottles.

What do you like most about being a member of WiM?

The year-round support for women in manufacturing around networking and education.

What do you enjoy most about the manufacturing industry?

I love the challenges that we are faced with each day as no two days look alike. We are ever evolving with market needs and demands and how the team collaborates together to overcome them is truly a rewarding feeling.

What woman in history has inspired you and why?

Amelia Earhart – she overcame obstacles with little to no support and her resilience has impacted me both personally and professionally. Her dedication and determination to be the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean is remarkable.

What passion or purpose gets you up in the morning?

My passion and purpose is to get up everyday and be better than I was the day before. I also have a passion for helping others and watching them grow into better versions of themselves as well.

How do you stay motivated in your personal and professional life?

The challenges in both that allow you to learn, grow and ultimately overcome what some think is impossible.

What's your biggest professional accomplishment to date?

Personal growth as a leader, moving from a tactical control and command style to get things done to one that understands the value of a servant leadership style and approaches the execution of the tasks in a more supportive and collaborative style.

What's the best piece of business advice that you've ever received?

Control the controllable and always look at the bigger picture. It’s not about you, always look from other's perspective. 

Do you have any tips or advice for new WiM members?

We are a relatively small group in this industry, so be vulnerable and engage in the opportunity for networking and professional growth. Don’t be afraid to say I don’t know and lean into your resources for support and advice.

What is Ball doing to create an inclusive atmosphere or support women in the industry?

While Ball is a larger organization, there is a family feel here. Top leaders in our organization are engaging and support development for all. A few examples of this are WiM, ERG’s, local organizations and family benefits.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy home remodeling, restoring old furniture and biking.

What's your go-to comfort food?

Mexican is definitely my comfort food and I LOVE fajitas.

What is the best trip you have ever been on and why?

The best trip I ever went on was to Spain for my 35th birthday. I was fortunate enough to have my mother and sister with me on this trio and we made life long memories that will never be forgotten.
