How long has the chapter been around?
WIM Nebraska started just prior to COVID.
What areas or regions does the chapter host events in?
A lot of our events are in the Omaha metropolitan area, but we also host events further west, and would love to continue expanding throughout the state.
How has being part of WIM Chapters impacted your career or personal growth?
Being a part of the WIM Nebraska Chapter has helped me grow my network personally and professionally. Manufacturing is a huge industry and so important, but that can be intimidating, especially when you’re new to the industry. The beauty of WIM is that everyone has been in those same shoes, and regardless of the company you work for, they all want to help you succeed.
What has been your favorite WIM Chapter event?
Our chapter does a lot with engaging the next generation of the workforce, with a focus on bringing awareness of manufacturing to students. My favorite events have been student engagement events where the girls in the room start the event a little reluctant and leave with a lightbulb moment of realization that they can do this – and inspired. Those are the moments that really matter.
What is one word you would use to describe WIM?
Energizing.
