How long has the chapter been around?
We held our first official event in January of 2024.
What areas or regions does the chapter host events in?
The WIM Iowa chapter covers events all-across the state!
How has being part of WIM Chapters impacted your career or personal growth?
Where do I even begin? I pushed myself well outside my comfort zone by stepping up to lead the launch of the Iowa State Chapter. Without a clear road map, I was able to rally a team and break the work down one step at a time. Through this experience, I’ve expanded both my professional and personal network, learned about a wide range of manufacturers across the state—and even globally—and, most importantly, had the opportunity to lead an incredible group of women. Their diverse perspectives challenged me to think beyond my usual bubble and grow as a leader.
What has been your favorite WIM Chapter event?
Our signature end-of-year birthday celebrations are always a favorite, because we get to reflect on everything the chapter has accomplished and look ahead to the year to come with our members. We also attended a community outreach Period Packing Party, which was very rewarding and eye-opening!
What is one word you would use to describe WIM?
Uplifting.
