Chapter Spotlight - WIM Alabama
Checking in with WIM Alabama's chair...
Please share your position, company name and chapter affiliation.
I am the Senior Manager of Parts Management for Toyota and Mazda at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) and currently serve as the Alabama Chapter Chair for Women in Manufacturing (WIM).
How long has the chapter been around?
Since February 2020 – 6+ years.
What areas or regions does the chapter host events in?
We host events throughout the state of Alabama with regional representation in North, Northwest, Central, and South Alabama. We also offer virtual events to ensure members across the state have opportunities to connect, learn, and grow.
How has being part of WIM Chapters impacted your career or personal growth?
For me, it's less about how WIM has impacted me personally and more about the opportunity to impact others. There is so much joy in connecting women, helping them build confidence, and encouraging them to pursue what is in their hearts to achieve. Watching relationships form, seeing members step into leadership, and helping someone realize they belong in manufacturing is incredibly rewarding.
What has been your favorite WIM Chapter event?
Women Ride Too! It was an amazing opportunity to connect with women from different companies in a fun, relaxed environment while breaking stereotypes and building genuine relationships. It perfectly captured what WIM is all about: community, confidence, and connection.
What is one word you would use to describe WIM?
Peace. That may seem like an unexpected answer, but my career is centered around crisis management and solving problems every day. WIM gives me the opportunity to pause, focus on people, and pour into others. Whether I'm planning an event, attending a conference, or simply connecting with members, it brings a sense of peace that reminds me why this work matters.
