Why is WiM important to you?
WiM is one of the only organizations that solely works to support, promote and inspire women in manufacturing roles. Manufacturing is an industry that many women never even consider pursuing roles in because they are unfamiliar with them or afraid that the roles are too difficult to pursue. WiM helps to provide insights and support of potential good roles for women in manufacturing.
What is a highlight moment or a favorite memory from your time with WiM?
The annual WiM SUMMIT has created so many memories for me, especially the Hall of Fame celebrations that highlight women who have truly made an impact in manufacturing throughout their careers. Another highlight has been my tenure serving as a director on the Women in Manufacturing Association Board.
How has WiM affected you personally and professionally?
Professionally, I have grown my network of colleagues and professional women that I can reach out to for support, growth and knowledge. The other ladies that I have met through WiM are amazing professionals who support and build communities around each other. Personally, I have met many new friends that I hold a special bond with and have built a connection. From my daughters’ viewpoint, they also have been exposed to speakers and ladies that WiM has exposed me to, helping them become strong ladies with many great leadership qualities and skills.
How would you describe WiM in one word?
Community.
