Most people think that Domestic Violence only happens in the home. The reality is that it comes to work with the victim and can affect the workplace on many levels. In this session, you will learn what it means to be in an abusive relationship and how it can affect both your employee and the organization. A roadmap to becoming a fully prepared and supportive organization will be shared that can be used for analysis and planning of future action steps. Additionally, we'll discuss the importance of a fully developed crisis management plan that includes Employee-Related Events such as Active Shooter.

Expectation or Learning Objectives:
• Examine the realities of Domestic Violence and determine how it can affect your workplace and your workforce.
• Assess the costs and risks associated with DV in the workplace
• Analyze how your organization can be prepared and support survivors in your workplace.
• Explore fundamental elements of a crisis management plan and specifically categories and triggers for Employee-Related Events.
• Learn practical tips for dealing with an active shooter scenario.
• Discuss garnering executive leadership buy-in and advocacy on these objectives.
