In high-pressure industries like manufacturing, the unspoken rules can be the most damaging—especially the lie that stress is weakness and struggle should stay silent. In this powerful, practical session, leadership coach Stephen from Tradewinds Leadership exposes the hidden stigmas that hold leaders back and offers a field-tested framework to replace them with resilience, connection, and clarity.
Drawing from real-world experience in the field, Stephen will equip you with tools to lead with confidence, build psychologically safe teams, and challenge the outdated mindsets that no longer serve us. If you’ve ever felt the pressure to “have it all together” while leading others, this session is your permission to lead differently—and more effectively.
Stephen Dummit is the President of Tradewinds Leadership, a professional training and development firm committed to making mental health and resilience as essential as physical safety in high-pressure industries.
A former electrical contractor turned coach and facilitator, Stephen brings real-world experience to his work, connecting with frontline workers and leaders as someone who has walked their path. He is an active member of the Nevada AGC Safety Committee and the California AGC Safety & Health Council, where he champions leadership and communication as key drivers of mental health and resilience.
Through hands-on practical workshops and coaching, Stephen equips safety professionals and frontline managers with tools they can use immediately. His approach focuses on learning by doing, compared to learning by theory, making essential skills stick in the environments where they matter most. Stephen acts as a trusted connector between the field and the office — a collaborative bridge who turns “total worker health” from an initiative into a lived reality.
