Join us for an engaging session on how healthy habits and nutrition directly impact workforce well-being, productivity, and overall performance. This discussion will explore practical strategies to support healthier choices, improve energy and focus, and strengthen team resilience. Whether you’re looking to boost your own health or foster a culture of wellness in the workplace, this session will provide valuable insights and actionable takeaways.
As part of the experience, participants will enjoy a hands-on activity creating their own charcuterie-style lunch box. This interactive workshop will demonstrate how simple, balanced food choices can be both delicious and convenient, while inspiring ideas for healthy meals and snacks at work and home.
November is National Diabetes Month, a time when communities across the country seek to bring attention to diabetes. This year’s focus is on taking action to prevent diabetes health problems. Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high. It affects about 38 million Americans, including adults and youth. Diabetes can damage the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart, and it is linked to some types of cancer.
But there’s also good news: Taking charge of your health may help you prevent diabetes health problems - programs such as this are a great start.
About Texas Agri-Life Extension
A unique education agency, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service teaches Texans wherever they live, extending research-based knowledge to benefit their families and communities. More Details can be found at: www.https://mclennan.agrilife.org/
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension’s Family and Community Health unit helps Texans better their lives through science-based educational programs designed to improve the overall health and wellness of individuals, families, and communities. The FCH program in McLennan County strives to address nutrition and wellness issues through classroom presentations, lectures, brochures, handouts, website education, specially designed programs, hands-on activities, and one-on-one contact. A special nutrition program, Better Living for Texans (BLT), targets food stamp recipients, Head Start participants and parents, WIC clientele, Title 1 Schools, and summer food service sites. This program concentrates on general nutrition, stretching food dollars, and increasing overall health through proper dietary and physical activity components. Nutrition series or one-time programs are available through this program. If you would like more information on FCH and BLT programming, please contact the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in McLennan County by emailing Rachel Esquivel, CEA, FCH.
We can't wait to see you there!
