Join WiM Oregon for an
Boise Cascade Factory Tour and Happy Hour
Attendees will begin the tour with a safety talk and presentation about Boise Cascade and Willamina. Presentation to include items such as how many people are employed at the mill, various stats, and other facts about the company. Once the presentation is complete, attendees will be allotted time for questions and then will proceed with the tour. Takeaways will include things like scope of timber industry and current manufacturing environment, basics of an Enterprise business model utilized in the Boise Cascade Western Oregon Region, basic understanding of processing timber into veneer, plywood & engineered wood products, range of career paths in Boise Cascade, our Core Values, and general ongoings at a veneer mill from log scaling to final shipment of veneer.
About Willamina Veneer
Nestled in the beautiful coastal mountain range northwest of Salem, Willamina OR is home to 1 of 15 Boise Cascade Veneer manufacturing plants, which happens to be one of the fastest veneer manufacturing plants in North America. Our veneer plant supports the manufacturing of plywood, I-joist, laminate I-beams and other Engineered Wood Products all made right here in Western Oregon. We are the start of a larger Boise Cascade enterprise business model supporting our commercial and residential building customers across the west coast. Willamina produces enough square footage of veneer to blanket the entire City of Bend annually or the City of Portland every 4 years.

Please Note:
1. No shorts, short skirts, Hoodies or hooded jackets (to afford good peripheral vision due to cars, trucks, and forklifts).
2. Steel toed shoes not required. High heels, open toed shoes, and sandals are not allowed.
3. Hair past shoulders must be contained (hair band, hair net or held in a baseball cap).
4. Cameras and Cell Phones are not allowed.
5. Smoking on Boise Cascade company property is not allowed.
6. Reflective Vests are required, Safety Glasses are required, (side shields if wearing glasses, will be provided). Hearing Protection is required (headsets). Hard hats are not required; tours do not enter the warehouse.
7. No handling of wood is allowed.
8. Machines and equipment start automatically. Reaching into machines and/or material transfer areas is not allowed.
9. Watch for Hysters at all times in all areas.
10. If an Evacuation alarm sounds during an emergency; the Tour Guide will lead you safely out of the plant.
11. All guests will sign a Waiver and Release of Liability form prior to tour.
This event is open to individuals who are not employed by a direct competitor of Boise Cascade / Veneer Green. We appreciate your understanding that, at the request of our host, participation is limited to ensure an open and collaborative environment. The host company reserves the right to review registrations and decline attendance if necessary.
