Join Women in Manufacturing North Carolina for an evening designed to spark meaningful connections, inspire new ideas, and strengthen relationships across North Carolina's manufacturing community.
Following our exclusive tour of Nucor Steel Lexington, attendees will transition from seeing manufacturing in action to engaging with the people who drive it every day. Whether you work in operations, engineering, safety, maintenance, quality, human resources, supply chain, leadership, or another area of manufacturing, this event is designed to create opportunities for authentic conversations and lasting professional connections.
Didn't make the tour? You're still invited!
While this networking event follows the Nucor Steel Lexington tour, attendance on the tour is not required. We know tour spots can fill quickly, and schedules don't always allow for participation. Manufacturing Connections: Beyond the Mill provides another opportunity for manufacturing professionals to join the conversation, expand their network, and connect with fellow Women in Manufacturing members and guests from across the state.
What to Expect
Interactive Networking Activity
We'll kick off the evening with an engaging and interactive activity designed to energize the room and encourage collaboration. This experience will help attendees move beyond traditional introductions, uncover shared experiences, exchange ideas, and create meaningful connections with fellow manufacturing professionals from diverse backgrounds and industries.
Intentional Networking
This isn't just another networking event. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with women at various stages of their careers, learn from different perspectives, discuss common challenges, and explore opportunities for mentorship, partnership, and professional growth.
Food, Refreshments & Conversation
Enjoy a selection of hors d'oeuvres while continuing conversations in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The casual setting creates space for genuine relationship-building and allows attendees to expand their networks naturally.
What You'll Take Away
New professional connections from across North Carolina's manufacturing industry
Fresh perspectives and ideas from professionals with diverse experiences
Opportunities to build mentorship and support networks
Increased awareness of career paths and opportunities within manufacturing
Practical insights and ideas you can bring back to your organization
A stronger sense of community and belonging within the manufacturing industry
Why Attend?
Manufacturing is built on innovation, teamwork, and relationships. The strongest solutions often come from conversations between people who bring different experiences and viewpoints to the table. Manufacturing Connections: Beyond the Mill creates a space where those conversations can happen.
Whether you're new to manufacturing, an emerging leader, a seasoned professional, or simply looking to expand your network, you'll leave with valuable connections, new insights, and renewed energy to continue making an impact in your organization and our industry.
Come ready to connect, collaborate, and discover what is possible when women across manufacturing come together.
About Nucor
Nucor is North America’s largest steel and steel products company. We operate 25 steel mills that produce approximately one-quarter of America’s raw steel using scrap metal as our primary raw material, and more than 250 facilities that produce raw materials or finished steel products for non-residential construction, infrastructure, automotive, heavy equipment, renewable energy and other applications. Nucor employs 30,000 teammates, and directly and through affiliates approximately 800 in North Carolina at its corporate office, Hertford County plate steel mill, three scrap processing facilities and a rebar fabrication facility in Lumberton.
Every Nucor steel mill uses an electric arc furnace (EAF) that melts recycled scrap and turns it into new steel. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Nucor is a Fortune 150 company. Nucor Steel Lexington micro mill produces clean, sustainable steel for our modern U.S. economy.
Nucor’s new reinforcing bar (rebar) micro mill in Davidson County serves the construction market in the South Atlantic Region/I-85 corridor from Maryland to Georgia
• Nucor Steel Lexington will have an annual production capacity of 430,000 tons.
• Rebar is used primarily in concrete reinforcement for the construction of roads, bridges, buildings and other critical infrastructure.
• By making rebar right in here in the Piedmont of North Carolina, we create savings for our customers just by reducing transportation costs. We draw on the scrap available from our company-owned scrap recycling facilities, including our three Metal Recycling Services locations in North Carolina, which will provide the scrap that is recycled into new steel rebar.
• Nucor has 15 bar mills strategically located across the United States that manufacture a broad range of steel products, including concrete reinforcing bars, hot-rolled bars, rounds, light shapes, structural angles, channels, wire rod and highway products in carbon and alloy steels.

We can't wait to see you there!
