A Holiday Initiative Supporting Handi-Crafters

This holiday season, WiM Eastern PA invites you to join a special initiative that celebrates giving back — “Packaging with a Purpose!” We’re partnering with Handi-Crafters, a powerhouse nonprofit that employs and empowers over 200 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through meaningful work in their thriving co-packaging and assembly business.

Handi-Crafters helps people discover their skills, purpose, and independence — one project, one package, one success story at a time. This is your chance to roll up your sleeves and be part of something truly impactful.

Two Meaningful Ways to Support “Packaging with a Purpose”

1. Volunteer Your Time

Step onto the Handi-Crafters production floor and experience purpose in motion! You’ll work side-by-side with our program participants in the vocational rehabilitation program — assembling, kitting, and packaging products that build confidence and skill development.

2. Donate to Empower Employment
If you can’t join us in person, you can still make a huge impact. Your donation fuels programs that provide job training, paid work experience, and pathways to competitive employment for individuals with disabilities.

Where Your Donations Go: Every dollar supports Handi-Crafters’ Co-Packing and Assembly Work Center — helping participants gain valuable skills, earn a training wage, and find purpose through meaningful employment.

What to Expect:
· Choose from these two dates reserved for WIM Volunteers: December 2nd and/or December 11th
· Hands-on assembly and kitting alongside participants
· Light activity (some sitting and standing)
· Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable business-casual clothing
· WIM Volunteer schedule is 9:00 AM-Noon
