Why Support the WiM Education Foundation?

Our work is rooted in both urgency and opportunity: The manufacturing industry is transforming rapidly, and women are essential to its future. We believe a successful manufacturing sector must center on women, particularly in light of Deloitte’s projection that the U.S. will need nearly 4 million new skilled manufacturing workers by 2030.

We cannot meet that demand without women, and we cannot afford for those women to face the same barriers that have historically limited their advancement. WiM Education Foundation exists to change that trajectory, ensuring that the next generation of women have the skills and support to lead, innovate, and thrive in the sector.

Fundraising Guidelines

Be sure to review the Chapter Policies & Operational Guidelines beginning on page 15 for detailed information on chapter fundraising.

SOLICIT DIRECT DONATIONS – Chapters are encouraged to share their unique donation URL to solicit donations directly to the WiM Education Foundation (links can be found above). Contributions that come in through the unique donation URL will be credited directly to the chapter for easy tracking/reporting.
CHAPTER FUNDRAISERS & DONATIONS – Chapters are permitted to make direct donations from the chapter account to the WiMEF. As this is a simple transfer, it does not incur any credit card fees generally associated with online donations. 100% of that gift goes to supporting WiM Education Foundation activities.
CORPORATE GIFT MATCHING – Many companies have programs to match charitable donations made by employees. Each chapter donation URL will include a note encouraging donors to contact their HR department to confirm if their company has this type of program. Once confirmed, the donor will then contact Michelle Blackford, Director of Philanthropy at mblackford@womeninmfg.org for additional assistance. If a gift is matched by a donor’s company, the chapter will receive credit for the original donation and the match. Not sure if your employer offers a charitable match?
