The SUMMIT is the highlight of WiM's busy calendar of year-round programming dedicated to supporting, promoting, and inspiring women in the manufacturing sector. The event features exclusive tours of leading manufacturing facilities, professional development sessions, roundtable discussions, and inspiring keynote presentations, as well as social and networking events. 

The 10th annual WiM SUMMIT will be held on September 28 - 30, 2020 in Cleveland, OH.  The 2020 event will be a triumphant homecoming for the organization, which has its headquarters in the city and hosted its first annual conference there in 2011.

Women in Manufacturing (WiM) will hold the first-ever Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Gala in Cleveland, OH, on September 30, 2020. This premiere event for women working in all areas of manufacturing will include an induction ceremony, where 10 women who have made exceptional contributions to the manufacturing industry and to the advancement of women in the field will be recognized. Following the ceremony, dinner, drinks and live music will be enjoyed. The gala will also feature a silent auction to benefit Women in Manufacturing’s Education Foundation (WiMEF).

The Women in Manufacturing (WiM) Association has brought together top industry associations and organizations to launch a first-of-its-kind Coalition for Women in Industry. The coalition builds on WiM’s reputation for innovation and collaboration and offers a unique opportunity to strengthen unified efforts to attract, retain, and advance women in traditionally male-dominated industries. The group is comprised of senior executives, founders and board members of organizations and associations who are committed to this effort. 

Coalition Mission: To work to attract, retain and advance women in manufacturing, with the goal of achieving a new norm in the industry: one in which women and men have equal power, status, and opportunity.

Professional Development Programs

Leadership Institute is an executive education program which concentrates on issues pertinent to women working in male-dominated fields with specific focus on women in industry. Since its launch in 2016, the program has graduated more than 50 outstanding women who have advanced in their roles and have added great leadership value to their organizations.

The comprehensive curriculum includes topics ranging from negotiations, influence, and effective communication to managing multiple levels of strategy. The course also includes individualized executive coaching, 360-degree assessments and peer coaching, as well as an Emotional Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) assessment.

Due to support from the WiM Education Foundation, members of the association are invited to enroll in this program at the reduced rate of $5,000. The regular, non-member rate is $7,500.

The Management Development Program (MDP) provides new and aspiring supervisors, managers and team leaders, who have three or less years of experience, with training to develop skills that are necessary for managerial success. The MDP takes place over four unique sessions, two of which are in-person. Some of the topics covered include: Effective Communication with DISC, Navigating Difficult Conversations, Ongoing Performance Management, Dynamic Presentations, Finance for the Non-Financial Manager, and many others.

Designed for: Entry-level management professionals in manufacturing and/or individuals interested in becoming a manager of supervisor.

Examples of past participant titles include: Engineering Administrator, Sales Manager, Executive Assistant, Operational Perfect, Associate Manager, Office Manager, and Industry Analyst.
